Food Sensitivity Testing

naturopathic practitioner

Not surprisingly, food choices serve as one of the most important aspects for the maintenance and bettering of one's body. Eating a well balanced, whole food diet is understood as one of the most widely recognized health tips. However, some people may have an intolerance to certain foods, even if they are considered healthy. These intolerances can effect a lot more than just how you feel, they can cause a myriad of symptoms. Food sensitivities have also been linked to behavioral symptoms such as ADHD, dyslexia, epilepsy, depression, and anxiety, below are a few studies linking food and mental health.

Food sensitivity testing has become more popular in recent years due to the increase in individuals experiencing a lack of tolerance to certain foods. Before the advancement of testing, one would have to walk through the arduous step by step process of eliminating certain foods from their diets. This very tedious task could also be inaccurate if not strictly controlled. A food sensitivity test can help give clear and accurate guidelines on what foods to avoid and what can be consumed in moderation.

Dr. Christy has the ability to test for 430 different food compounds with a short list of common foods. This typically takes 5-7 minutes in person and the client is able to leave the appointment with a custom curated game plan for which foods to avoid. Dr. Christy can also preform this test remotely with a saliva sample.
